Book Review - A Time it Was - Bobby Kennedy in the Sixties

June 18, 2008 by April Andersen

Two hundred thousand American soldiers at war with troop surges that would rise to half a million. A shooting at the University of Texas that left 14 dead and thirty one others wounded. The assassination of Martin Luther King Jr., the Tet Offensive in Vietnam, the rise of Eugene McCarthy. A country with the enraged spirit of the young that was not only felt in America, but over most the world.

Does this sound like a familiar story? It was forty years ago and still the politics of war and policies of paranoia grip a nation.

What Are CCD Image Sensors?

June 19, 2008 by Kimberly

You don't need to be an electrical engineer to understand why CCD image sensors are better than CMOS when it comes to digital cameras, camcorders, and security cameras. The image sensor is a special component that converts light into electronic impulses. For traditional cameras it would be the equivalent component of the film used. The film used in a camera is a major factor on how the photographs will turn out. These days imaging equipment, such as security cameras and digital cameras, rely on CCD or CMOS image sensors. Both chips are about the size of a dime.

You can also make lasagna, manicotti, stuffed shells or baked ziti with this same sauce recipe. Obviously, all four dishes and the meatballs might be a bit much too Italian for some, but it just goes to show you, you can do it yourself and save a lot of money on caterers in the meantime.

How to build a successful gaming/game-related community

It is best to begin by determining your niche market so that you can direct your appeal towards a specific group of users. There is so much competition, in the forum-based community industry, that you may be unable to compete with 'general' game-related forums.

How to Deal With Heatstroke

June 5, 2008 by William Kho

Summer is just around the corner and the sun will stay up longer. Many of us would want to enjoy the warmth of the sun, going for a picnic, barbeque in the park or just lying on deck chairs by the pool.

Children too like to go out cycling, roller skating, skate boarding or just running in the open to enjoy the sunshine.

So You Think You Are Prepared Financially?

June 24, 2008 by Robert Buford

What happens when you are sued for more than your basic homeowners or auto insurance policy covers and are found liable? Well, for most people, it would mean liquidating unprotected assets in order to satisfy the judgment. This may mean garnished wages, selling property, and possibly losing some of your investments. This is certainly a situation that could ruin your life, but there are ways to protect yourself.

How to Save Money at the Eye Doctor

June 20, 2008 by Colin Larson

Many people have health insurance but don't carry things like vision coverage. The reason for this is that it is expensive and many times doesn't seem to cover very much. There is also the mindset that a heart attack could bury you financially but a new pair of glasses won't so why worry. The result is millions of people putting off visits to the doctor until the problem is too big to ignore, then paying for everything out of their own pocket.
