Open Access to Sirius Radios

Proprietary systems abound; just take Apple for instance. Ever try to really do anything with iTunes that wasn't Apple oriented? While that is probably a poor analogy, let's look at it this way. Sirius radios are proprietary. This means that you must have a Sirius radio to listen to their programming (unless you're getting it online). So, what's the problem with that, you ask? Plenty of folks feel that Sirius (and XM) should adopt an open access solution, perhaps helped along by the FCC.

Once you decide that satellite radio is for you, you're going to have to decide which company to go with. You have Sirius and XM to choose from, and there are several factors in considering which one to go with. There is cost, which realistically is the same between the two. There is also station selection. This one is a biggie, and rightfully so. Both providers offer a large variety of stations, in all music genres, and they offer a good selection of sports channels, news channels, talk channels and more.

If you want to make a thoroughly healthy, tasty and simple pasta for all the family, then try this one below. Always a success with every age!

1. Buy certified organic spelt pasta.

Freshly made is best, but alternatively, nothing beats the flavors of certified organic pasta.

2. Slowly simmer 3 cups in filtered water with a pinch of Celtic sea salt.

I usually simmer for about 10 minutes, have a taste, then continue.

3. When soft enough, strain it in cold, filtered water.

This separates the strands of pasta without any tearing.

Here's one that my 104 year old Sicilian great grandmother taught me. Sunday Gravy Never Tasted So Good.

Can be prepared in 45 minutes or less.

Ingredients

1 large onion, sliced and diced

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4-cup olive oil

1 28-ounce can tomato puree

1 18-ounce can tomato paste

1-teaspoon dried basil

1-teaspoon oregano

1-teaspoon salt

1/4-teaspoon crushed anise (or 1/2-teaspoon whole)

2 tomato paste cans of water (see note)
